Everyone's Got an X (PDF)
An "X" is fitting for many life events: The arrival of a baby (everyone has an X chromosome), the Roman numeral X for a tenth birthday or anniversary, or — in contrast — the end of a marriage. The design features transparency, with translucent “white” stripes overlaid on a coloured bar on a darker background. The optional pieced binding provides 'serifs' to the typeface. A 45° mark on a quilt ruler makes for perfect angles.
Pattern includes instructions for a Baby (33" x 38") and Lap (50" x 65") sized quilts.
About the Designer
Andrea Tsang Jackson is a designer and self-taught quilter living on the East Coast of Canada. Since childhood, I have always had an interest in making. My training in architecture has allowed me to understand the design process from a variety of approaches. My training in life, mostly by my two young boys, has taught me about the beauty in mess. Quilting has become the medium where I can explore my interests in material, geometry and place.
